What is it for?
The fuel compensator diaphragm is a critical part of your injector pump. It senses the amount of boost pressure coming from your turbocharger and adjusts the fuel delivery accordingly. When you put your foot down, the turbo creates boost, which pushes on this diaphragm. This movement allows more fuel into the engine, giving you the power you need.
Why would you use it?
The original diaphragms in these pumps are prone to failing. They can become brittle and split from age and exposure to the chemical makeup of modern diesel fuels.
